Miss Vibhaa (vibhaa (Sanskrit for 'bright')[1]) (Nepali: मिस विभा) is a Nepalese annual beauty pageant found by Umanga Creation in 2024, with Uddhab Adhikari as the director of the pageant. It is an umbrella pageant that selects Nepalese delegates for different international pageants.
History
[edit]Umanga Creations organized Miss Universe Nepal from 2020 until 2023 when it lost the Miss Universe license. Umanga Creations then acquired the license for Miss Grand International-Nepal and later, Miss Cosmo Nepal. It then rebranded its annual pageant as Miss Vibhaa. Miss Vibhaa is an umbrella pageant that organizes collective contest for selecting Nepalese delegates for its officially licensed franchises.[2]
Licensed Pageants
[edit]- Miss Grand Nepal (2023–present): Miss Vibhaa. Umanga Creation is the official licensee of Miss Grand Nepal where the winner of Miss Vibhaa represents Nepal at Miss Grand International. The contest was first announced in 2024. However, Nepal has been sending delegates to Miss Grand International since 2013. From 2013 to 2022, the competition was organized by different companies. Umanga Creation obtained license for Miss Grand in 2023, and sent Garima Ghimire, first runner up of Miss Universe Nepal 2023 to Miss Grand 2023. As from 2024, winner of Miss Vibhaa will become the next Miss Grand Nepal.[3]
- Miss Cosmo Nepal (2024–present): Miss Vibhaa. Umanga Creation is also the licensee of Miss Cosmo.[4] One of the winners of Miss Vibhaa will be crowned Miss Cosmo Nepal and becomes designated to represent Nepal at Miss Cosmo. Umanga Creation, confirmed the acquiring of the Miss Cosmo license in February 2024. On July 17, 2024, it was announced that all the pageants under Umanga Creation were brought under the umbrella of Miss Vibhaa, confirming Miss Cosmo Nepal as part of Miss Vibhaa.[5][6]
